Frog Fun

In First Grade the kids are learning about frogs.
Their theme for the year is centered around FROGs-Fully Rely On God!
They have tadpoles in the classroom and several of the students have brought in frogs and toads.
We have several toads that live in our backyard so everyday Wes goes looking for one hoping to capture it. Sunday evening after Wes went to bed I saw the toad on our back porch. Wes was so excited the next morning to find out we had him and he could take him to school.
He was so proud to show all his friends!

Releasing him back at home that afternoon!

Our Drug Dog

On Sunday afternoon Kodi got into my purse and found a pill bottle I had. We weren't sure how much he had eaten but the vet said we should really bring him in.
After cleaning him out, he seems to be feeling well!
I'm sure he's very sorry for what he did, especially after his vet visit.
Don't worry Kodi we still love you!

The Rest of the Summer in a HUGE Nutshell

Painting an airplane!

Painting a rock for our neighbor.
She had noticed all the painted rocks in our backyard and was wishing she had some!
Now she does!

Once a month our church has a family day I'd call it, but we don't meet that night for church and they want us to really focus on our time together as a family. We took that opportunity to head to the golf course. We were paired with the nicest guys! We had a wonderful day together and it never hurts that Todd and Wes played well.
SO SWEET!

We also did swim lessons again this year with Ms. Linda. She is amazing! Wes can do the back stroke, the freestyle, and the breast stroke WELL!

Here's Wes in action!

Todd and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this summer. We left Wes in good hands with all our family and headed to Port Aransas! It was SO wonderful to spend time alone and look back on the past years. Todd did a lot of golfing, I did a lot of reading, and we both did a ton of beach time and eating out! And don't forget sleeping in!
It's been an incredible 10 years! I look forward to many more!
I love you, my answered prayer!

Todd caught several trout! YUM!
Wish we had been prepared with a cooler to save them!

Wes is still a Lego nut! Here he is working on a huge one he spent all his money on!

Ok mom, really a picture of this?

We also spent another day on the lake! Wes caught several perch, swam, and retrieved golf balls out of the lake from the nearby golf course!

And he got to drive! Does he look like he's having fun?

And I can't forget that I took Wes and Kodi swimming!
Wes was so excited to see Kodi in the water.
Here's the guys swimming!

Wherever Wes would swim, Kodi would follow!

Wes had just jumped in. Kodi would also jump in everytime Wes would!
He would jump half way across the pool.

He made it to Wes!

Cannon Ball!

It's been a great summer full of many more days at the pool, having friends over, doing tons of water balloons, and (for me-lots of reading!) I'm a little sad to see the summer ending yet I know we will be so thankful for the routine of the school year!

Guy and Girl Time

I had some of my closest friends come to visit this weekend. We spent a ton of time shopping, eating, and catching up! We visited some great Austin places--Chuy's Bess's Moonshine...
I also drove them around to see some pretty areas of Austin.

The boys didn't really want to shop and visit so they did their own guy weekend.
They headed out Friday to a hotel. They ate out and swam in the hotel pool!
The next morning was the breakfast which Wes thinks is great to have that many choices and then they were off to a Wildlife Ranch. They saw too many exotic animals to mention.

Aoudad

They had a petting zoo also.

Last but not least they stopped at a snake farm!
Yikes!

WWII

To end our 4th of July weekend we headed to Fredericksburg's Nimitz Museum where they reenact a portion of WWII!
What a wonderful way to honor any and all who have served for our country.

Complimentary ear plugs!

Most of these men are volunteers!

If you have a chance I'd check it out!
