My 2nd grader!!!

Yesterday Wes started 2nd grade in April Hejl's class.
You were so excited when you found out that Mrs. Hejl was your teacher
and that Sky was in your class.

You love your Corvette notebook so we had to get it in the picture along with your school box!
After I picked you up the first day you said, "It was AWESOME and Mrs. Hejl is FUNNN!!"
It probably didn't hurt that you had a fun day with watermelons,
including a seed spitting contest!
I pray you have an amazing year and as you requested,
I pray often for you to be more and more Christ-like everyday!
This picture is the 2nd day of school. You and Presley are both wearing the new uniform shirt!
I hope you two are good friends for along time!

A Long Outdoor Weekend

Friday night started with hiking up just a bit to overlook Austin at the 360 bridge.
Hopefully I'll figure out how to add those pics from Todd's iphone.
We then ate at Mighty Fine Burgers and enjoyed the rest of our relaxing evening.
Saturday we headed to a trail that Wes and I had been to several years ago. Wes was really wanting to show Daddy and go on a hike. It was 100 degree day but this creek and trail was completely shaded so it really wasn't that bad.
Having Daddy along always add some excitement.

After our hike we braved Costco and then spent the evening with Todd's family since Tammy and the girls were in town. We ended our dinner visiting Granny at her place.
Sunday was church and that night was dinner on the grounds!
Wes brought his basketball to play with in the gym!
He had so much fun running around with all his friends.
Monday, we headed to the lake first thing in the morning!
Our plan was to just hang out for a few hours and then be in early since the first day of school was the next day.
Well we were having too much fun so we had trouble making ourselves leave.
Despite staying several extra hours we made it home in time to grill, clean up, and get Wes in bed and asleep by 8:25!!!

Here is how the guys spent the first part of the morning!

Wes caught the only fish again.
He caught 5 perch!

Wes loved jumping out of the boat.
He spent a ton of time jumping in and then climbing back in the boat.

It was so hot, I spent most of my time in the water!

Wes had lots of fun driving us around also!

It was a WONDERFUL weekend filled with family fun which was great right before school starts back!

Summer Camping

Has anyone noticed how hot it has been lately?
I wanted to do something fun, go camping, but really it's so HOT!
We set up the tent in the living room and have enjoyed a few nights of camping!
It was a lot of fun, cool, and much softer on the carpet.

Reading before bedtime.
I loved camping with you Weso!
In fact, everything with you is better!
Love you!

FAMILY

Today we spent a lot of time being reminded not to take family for granted.
We had to say good-bye to Nita (Nancy's cousin).
It was a beautiful service honoring her life.
I always LOVED seeing her and talking with her and will greatly miss her.
Todd and Wes were both named after Wilbur Kentric Stagner.
Ken Todd Tindel
Wes Kentric Tindel
It has been a long time since we have been out to the McDade cemetery to see Todd's Pappy. Wes was too little to remember being there before so it was good to be able to take him again.
Tell your family you love them!
I love you Todd and Wes!!!

Austin Children's Museum

Today was a fun day. Wes and I met some friends up at the museum for several hours.
The kids just ran around exploring everything.
In fact after I got a few pics I just sat down. There was no way I could keep up with them darting from place to place. One of the sections was BIG games as you'll see below.
Wes loved the pulley system and the parachuting pigs and cows!

Wes and I headed out to lunch afterwards at Phil's Icehouse.
Wes played on the playground for a bit and of course then needed some Amy's Ice cream to cool off.

Saturday Sprinklers

This Saturday we had the Cardwell kids come over for the day!
They had a great time.
While Clayton took a nap, the big kids went wet and wild in the backyard.

Just a free cute picture I had to throw in.
I guess Todd took this when Wes was relaxing on the couch after all the fun.
About 10 minutes after the Cardwell kids left we had another family over for our 2nd Annual Crab Fest. Then Sunday we spend lunch with 2 other families.
It was a busy and fun weekend with so many good friends!
We are so blessed to have such good, Godly friends.

Annual Port Aransas Family Vacation

We LOVE the beach! Thursday we headed out.
We drove through San Antonio and got to try the famous Chris Madrids!
The food was great and we were glad we could finally try it out.

Wes played in the sand most of the time!
This is the first year we really weren't in the water much, be it the pool or ocean.

Daddy fished alot as you'll see from the following pics.
He caught so much, he really had fun.

I love this pic!
HELLO, Dad! Did you really drop the shark right by me?
I'm out of here.

Red fish
Sheepshead

We did try to golf again.
By hole 14 Wes was ready to go. He just couldn't stand that the beach was right there and we weren't on it! Daddy may have to go by himself or we may just have to do 9 holes.

Daddy had fun in the sand too!

One night we ate at a restaurant that is right by a fishing tourist thing.
Wes took my camera and shot several pics, so the next few are from his perspective.

Wes has to have us take a picture here every year.
We love it too!
