Pee Wee Update

I have to post this after my last post about him not hitting a home run and his sweet comments. Last night at practice Wes was up to bat. The coach who is great, was giving Wes a hard time and telling him he wasn't going to get any home runs on his pitches. Well, he had to eat his words. You hit a home run! Way to go! You were so excited.

Pee Wee Baseball

Last night Wes had a practice on his new baseball team the White Soxs. It was Wes's turn to bat. The coach pitched to him and Wes missed. Wes so proudly exclaimed, "That would have been a homerun." The coach pitched again, again the same comment. Everyone just smiled. Third times a charm. He hit it. It was no homerun, but he made it safe to 1st base. I love little league!

Dirt Biking

Since Wes was three, he has always been wanting to be like the big boys at the park near our house. There are several dirt paths with hills and tons of kids ride through it even jumping some of the hills. At the age of three Wes would do his tricyle through the path just pedaling as fast as his little legs could go. The big boys would smile, knowing he was trying to be just like them. SO CUTE!!! Today was his day to ride like the big boys. He had such a huge smile as he rode his bike on the dirt path. He did take the path with the smallest hill so thankfully I wasn't nervous. Here's to many more rides on the dirt path!!! I love you, Wes.

Family Fun Inspite of Hurricane Ike

Wednesday we were supposed to head to Port Aransas for our family vacation. On Sunday we realized that our trip may not go as planned. By Tuesday we knew we shouldn't go. Sure enough, Wednesday afternoon they called for an emergency evacuation of all visitors in Port Aransas. It's such a blessing that we can get such advanced warnings about these storms. Wes was a little bummed about the trip but he took the news well. He ended up not missing school so he got to fulfill the prized job of being line leader and helper. Todd took off work early today and we headed to the golf course. It was such a good time. Wes hit some really good shots. The BEST though was watching him chip or hit on the green and then skip all the way to the ball while smiling the biggest smile. He was truly enjoying the moment which made me have the biggest smile. What a wonderful evening!!! It doesn't get any better than this!!!

Grandparents' Day at Parson's House

The place where Todd's Granny lives had a special lunch in honor of Grandparents' Day. We ended up getting a special, private room which as you'll see from below was needed.
(Actually they were pretty good but did have to act silly anytime we pulled out the camera.)

Granny with all her grandkids and great grandkids!
We love you, Granny!

DinoLand

Saturday we went with all the cousins to Zilker Park for a special dinosaur exhibit. The kids had fun hanging out.
Wes and his favorite dinosaur, the T-rex!

Brandon and Wes watching DinoMan. I thought he was a tad bit boring, but he has these boys' attention!

Grandkids with Nana!
