Our Winter Storm of 2011

This was us during the rolling blackout here in Texas and the freezing weather.
Knowing the freezing weather we were missing
just made the weather here in Hawaii feel even better!
The view from our balcony!
We saw many humpback whales right here which Wes LOVED!

Our sweet ride which was great for ALL the luggage we brought!

Some January Fun

This is Wes' second year to participate in Lego League! He loves it. This year's theme was biomedical engineering. One of the other moms in second grade actually does this for a living and was able to really help them understand how awesome this is. They made a demo of a device that could help make a jaw move.

Wes LOVES basketball. He has such a sweet team this year.

Pencil Grip Drama

I used to really be laided back, and as a teacher I could handle the kids coming to me
with blood or other exciting things.
I've always gotten stressed easy but never really dealt with WORRY all the time!
That is until I became a mother. I became the BIGGEST WORRIER of a mom!
How can you not be???
One week ago today I got a call from the school. It was about 5 minutes till school got out.
They wanted to see if I could go ahead and come in early to check on Wes.
He had swallowed a pencil grip.
They thought it was a rather large thing to swallow and wanted me to check on him.
As soon as he saw me he ran to me, hugged me, and cried.
He was scared.
I am so thankful that it did not get lodged in his throat
and somehow went down without much effort!
I called the doctor's office and the nurse said just to watch him for several days. If he had acute tummy pain obviously bring him in.
Well he was complaing a ton about his stomach and some reflux-like symptons.
Talk about turning on my worry!!!
Here is a picture of the type of pencil grip.
BEFORE
AFTER
Just kidding I won't post that picture!
5 days later it did come out and we could all relax!

Wes really did learn his lesson (so far) because he hasn't put but one thing in his mouth to chew since then. Normally it would be 100 things!

Thank you God for taking care of Wes!
We LOVE him and are so blessed that you gave him to our family to borrow!

LOVE MOMMY!

The End of August

Teaching me how to make sandals out of some food. You did this in school, not even sure what lesson it went with, but you really wanted me to learn how to make them!
You are an extra, sweet teacher!
Hanging out with Kodi!

Bathtime Fun!

My 2nd grader!!!

Yesterday Wes started 2nd grade in April Hejl's class.
You were so excited when you found out that Mrs. Hejl was your teacher
and that Sky was in your class.

You love your Corvette notebook so we had to get it in the picture along with your school box!
After I picked you up the first day you said, "It was AWESOME and Mrs. Hejl is FUNNN!!"
It probably didn't hurt that you had a fun day with watermelons,
including a seed spitting contest!
I pray you have an amazing year and as you requested,
I pray often for you to be more and more Christ-like everyday!
This picture is the 2nd day of school. You and Presley are both wearing the new uniform shirt!
I hope you two are good friends for along time!
