Happy 4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July of weekend!
We spent time with family, had several cookouts, and did LOTS of fireworks!

Wes LOVES the smoke bombs.

Fireworks in the marshmallow gun!

Since Wes was an infant he has been very sensitive to sounds.
This is what he did for most of our loud fireworks!

In the back of Daddy's truck waiting for the BIG firework display!
Still waiting!

It was a great show and we had great seats. We were almost right under them.

A Day on the Lake

We took Wes to the lake on his actual birthday.
He was excited to be turning 7 while on the lake.
We ate at Hula Hut for lunch!

I love you Wes!

It was very hot so we spent most of our time in the water instead of fishing!

Wes loves driving the boat!

Cousin Scott's helmet for when he is going way, way too fast on the boat!
Wes wouldn't let us go over 50 so we did not really need the helmet!

Wes caught several fish when he actually tried to.

Lots of little perch!

The 360 bridge as we headed home that evening! What a fun day!

Wes is 7!!!

Wes turned 7 on June 29th. We celebrated more than normal, but he didn't seem to mind all the parties and special times.
Wes is really into the Longhorns so that was our theme.

Thanks Auntie Em for the amazing cake.
Not only did it look good, it tasted great!
Best picture I could get of the cousins!
Wes and Allyson are sitting in the wheelbarrow Grandpa and Mimi got him!

2nd Longhorn cake!

Wes invited a few friends over to our house to celebrate.
We had tons of sport things to do, all UT of course.

Water balloons and a pinata!
Everyone got several turns at the pinata.
We finally just let you at it and soon the candy was all out!

After everyone left this is what we found Kodi getting into!

The I've been caught look!

Wes we are so proud of the older boy you have become!
We are thankful that God has blessed us with 7 wonderful years with you!
LOVE YOU!!!

Is LegoLand Hiring?

The last few months Wes has been into Legos. Awhile back I bought him one and I ended up building the whole thing. I told him we are not buying anymore till he was ready to build them on his own. A few months ago we tried it again, and he's been building like crazy ever since.
Yesterday I bought him this bigger one and he had it completed in 3 hours. He didn't move from the table till it was done. (He doesn't sit that still and long for a good movie!)

Proud of his work!
Closer view

All his legos that he has built all by himself!

My First Grader

Today was Kindergarten Graduation!
Presley and Molly

You did finally smile on stage but Daddy didn't catch that on film!

There was a reception after in your classroom.
You received two certificates.
Never Tardy & Awesome Athlete Award

You were SO proud and were giving hugs to everybody!

You may be horrified later, but you talk about marrying Presley.
You two have been great friends for several years.

You and Noble putting your "graduation cap" cookies on your head.

Mrs. Karla Smith
Mrs. Smith thinks so much of you. She told me how well you have done this year.
She has said numerous times how bright you are, but what she also said that means so much is how you really use self-control so often in how you behave.
That means so much to us, Wes!

Garrett and you have become great friends.

Wes we are so proud of you!
You strive to do what is best yet you have so much "boy" in you that learning to do that is hard. I marvel at how you've found such good balance at being fun and using self-control about when and how to have fun!
I pray you never lose that love for life.

We are so thankful that God gave you to us and we truly enjoy every moment with you!
