The Kindergarten CampOut

Every year the Kindergarten at his school have a camp out on the campus. Ours was rained out which means you just miss out. One of the Ryan kids is in kindergarten and their family owns the Dell Diamond! You guessed it. The camp out was rescheduled at the field. We got there at 6:30 and starting setting up the tents in the outfield. The kids just started playing.
There were several baseball games that evening.

YUMMY!

Fun on the basketball courts.

Fun on the playscape!

Testing out the bedding!

Movie time on the big screen.
Don't worry they didn't hang out long.
Soon they were all up playing some more.

More Golf and then On to Retreat

In the morning the boys headed out to golf again. They had a great time. I had a great time just relaxing and reading a book on the porch of our cabin.

Wes and Kiu

After golf the dads wanted to try out a restaurant that had been featured in a magazine. The Leakey Feed Lot was known for it's Chicken Fried Rib-eye. Yes, that's what we ordered for lunch and it was REALLY good. The lady who owned it was so nice. She showed us around her restaurant and had some chickens that were sitting on eggs.

It was now time for our annual church retreat at the HEB camp. We were the first ones there and the boys could hardly wait for us to unpack before they started fishing.

Just one out of MANY!

Aren't you tired of fishing yet???

Wes did make time to play in the water with some of the other kids who had just arrived.

ALL the kids love jumping off this rock.

The Hill Country Part 2

Wednesday morning we took our time getting up and then headed to the Concan Country Club. Who knew such a nice course was tucked away in an itty, bitty town.

After golf we headed back to the cabin to meet Jerry and Kiu who came early to hang out with us. Kiu and Wes had a ball together. The rest of the evening was spent fishing and playing a little bit of basketball.

Wes was so persistent about catching this catfish he saw. He was patient and got him.

The Hill Country

Last Tuesday we were fortunate enough to head out on a family trip. We love the hill country and later that week would meet up with our church family for our annual Church Retreat in Leakey. We stayed in a cabin right on the Frio River. It was so quiet and beautiful. Tuesday we just had time to settle in and play in the river a little bit before dark.
